I have been loving the half-bun lately, let alone twisting my hair into some type of bun or braid. It keeps me refreshed in this humid NYC weather and portrays my personal style. My sister bought a blue lipstick and I wanted to give it a try. I do not think it suits my skin tone that well but it was still fun to wear.

I stumbled upon thinking about the term, fomo, today. FOMO, fear of missing out, is commonly used in conversations. So I thought, what makes me fomo over certain things, versus others? I know that personally, there are times where I am horribly attached to my phone, refreshing for updates on different social media platforms every second. Then there are other phases where I enjoy keeping my phone turned off and away in far distance. And while fomo is initially discussed in relation to being connected with social media, it is also used around events and activities, such as missing out on an event, festival, or a trip. I certainly do not fomo over traveling to certain places but maybe that is because I am picky. Today I walked into Sephora not realizing that an event with Teen Vogue and Lancome was happening for Lancome's new product, Miracle on the Move. I realized I wanted to try the product, more because I did not want to feel missed out. What is it that makes me feel so direly in need of knowing what is going on and included while other times, not care at all.
I have come to appreciate and take advantage of any moment that I am traveling abroad or on a cruise, because wifi is limited. It is hard to detach and not focus on wondering what people I know are doing but at the end of every trip, I am always grateful for "being away." How far away are we really, when we travel nowadays? I think various factors affect what we are afraid of missing out on, all going back to some of our core beliefs and values. What do you fomo on?
